Riomaggiore - Manarola: “Beccara-n. 531”
The blue trail from Riomaggiore and Manarola (called the path of love) is closed, so this is an alternative trail.
From the train station square in Riomaggiore, go up the street next to the Bar Stazione (via Telemaco Signorini).
Follow the road until you reach a steep climb on your left with the sign “Manarola”.
Take the climb and continue walking, you will see the beginning of the path on your left.
Go down the stairs, cross the bridge and begin the climb through the vineyards.
This trail has no shade, so in summer it is recommended to hike early in the morning.
The steps can be up to 15-40 centimetres high so appropriate footwear is required.
Don't forget water, a hat and sunscreen.
Make sure you wear footwear with grip, as you may slip.
Manarola - Corniglia (via Volastra)
The blue path between Manarola and Corniglia is closed so this is the alternative path.
The trail is not always shaded, it is narrow and easily crowded.
The “easiest” way to do this hike is to take the bus from the village of Manarola to Volastra. The bus will drop you off in front of the church in Volastra, where you will find the start of the trail (586). Trail 586 is flat and goes through vineyards, then connects to trail 587, which is downhill, through the woods and arrives at Corniglia.
Don't forget water, a hat and sunscreen.
Be sure to wear traction footwear, as the trails are uneven.
This hike takes 2 hours in total from Manarola to Corniglia but if you take the bus from Manarola to Volastra (free for Cinque Terre card holders, €2.50/person for the bus ticket), it is 10 minutes + less than 1.30 hours for the hike from Volastra to Corniglia.
Start of the trail if you start from Manarola: Go past the parking lot, at the roundabout keep right and continue uphill. You will see the signs for “Volastra”.

CORNIGLIA - VERNAZZA

START OF THE TRAIL IF YOU START FROM VERNAZZA:
Walking down the main street of Vernazza, you will see the pharmacy (green cross) on your left. The trail begins by taking the stairs right next to the pharmacy.
START OF THE TRAIL IF YOU START FROM CORNIGLIA:
From Corniglia train station, take the bus or walk up the 400 steps to the village. When you arrive, you will see the old town on your left, take the road directly in front of you. You will see the ticket control point on your left.

MONTEROSSO - VERNAZZA:

START OF THE TRAIL IF YOU START FROM VERNAZZA:
Walking along the main street of Vernazza, you will see the pharmacy (green cross) on your left. The path starts on the right side from the stairs in front of the pharmacy.
START OF THE TRAIL IF YOU START FROM MONTEROSSO:
Leaving the Monterosso train station, facing the sea, head left towards the historic center. Go through the tunnel and take the road on the right, towards “Hotel Porta Roca”. Just before the hotel, you will see a staircase going down on the right, indicated “Vernazza”.
SUGGESTIONS:
